At last we get some planing on a Thursday night. The course was a slalom. THe first reach was way downwind on the plane, gybed OK, but coming back to the buoy was a nightmare upwind struggle, I had to tack to get round, and was in about 4th place at this time.

Halfway through the race the wind switched a bit more. After rounding the buoy you had to go on the plane to the shore tack then go up wind on the plane at least 200yrd to tack again and then make it back to the next one. I lost a few more places. There were a few retirements, and a few confused people (me). I managed to knock John off as someone charged toward me shouting starboard! on a coliisions course and diverted my attention from a tussle we were having at the time.

Could do better but it was a good lesson....
